The Game

The I.S.P Civilization Project game is an innovative game created by the teachers in the Integrated Studies Program (ISP). This game offers many opportunities for students to learn and understand how much work is necessary to build and maintain a civilization. The objective of this game is to become the top civilization by achieving world conquest. Groups can build their population daily, form alliances, and even declare wars.
This game starts of with groups composed of 6 people. Each group must select a group location, group name, group leader(s), and a type of government. The groups must also have a representitive for subjects, such as the following: Freshman Science, Biology, Algebra I, and Algebra II. In order for a group to advance their civilization, a group is required to complete certain activities that involve science, math, and language arts. By doing so, groups will be able to unlock certain technologies that will make it easier for growth, development, and expansion.

ISP Civ Project - NEWS OF THE WORLD

Hello Students,

 Beginning tomorrow, the world changes...

Within our civilization, the news is our primary means of communication. Communication is essential to civilization. Without communication, people don't receive information. Without information, there is ignorance. Ignorance leads to confusion, and confusion leads to chaos.

Your civilization will not survive with chaos.

IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE YOUR NEWS ARTICLES, YOUR CIVILIZATION WILL NOT ADVANCE.

OneManWolfPack - The Famine by Patricia King

The Famine
Written by: Patricia King

Somewhere in Prehistoric Times...

The Name of our group is "OneManWolfPack" The members of our team include the following ISP students: Patricia King, Stephen Cole, Jimmy Ernst, Ziajah Nellom, and Quiyana Goodman. Our civilization is currently located in the Northwest Territory. So far, our civilzation has suffered a famine that decimated 10 percent of the total population. This left our population at a total of 99. As long as our civilization has lived, our main sources of food has been wheat, oats, and barely. Over the past three years, our food supply has decreased; it started out to decrease slowly, then the change became more rapid and threatening. The cause for these horrible curcumstances are as follows: our crops have not been survivng. Since the begining of our civilization, our main crops have always been plentiful. It is believed that this serious depression of farming that has taken its tole on our community, is uprising because we have lost the favor of the God's.

As mentioned previously, these drastic changes in our food supply have harmed our civilization greatly; the most harmful of the results of the lack of crops include the damage it has done to our population. We have lost 10 percent of our population, which leaves us with 99 members in our society. So many people have dies of starvation. Even those with enough to live off of have a look of hopelessness glued to their faces....and those who have not enough at all, they have the hopelessness sewn into their heart, rather than their face. People steal from their best friends...some for true and honest selfishness and greed, while others steal to fill the bellies of their children.

This tragedy reminds us all of when our civilzation first started out...back then we were just a little group traveling. Then we decided to settle in this place where we could farm. The first year we spent in this settlement was awful...the gods were testing our will to live and sevive as a community. The weather was cold all year; the crops all froze, and we went hungry except for the small hunt that kept most of us alive. And then it was perfectly a wonderful summer; the god's were happy with our will, so they granted us plentiful food. Many of our citizens believe that if we show the gods that we are not selfish or greedy, they will once again let the crops grow. The only way we can think to show this is to stop all of the thievary that is going on; we will stop this by giving anyone who hasd been caught commiting such a crime, the penalty of death. This should fix the problem and put us back in the favor of the gods.
